Google Talk

The Google Talk Plugin is a great addition to the Google family. The plugin adds some functionality to Google Talk that really kind of slowed the progress of the messenger down. Now, thanks to it, you can video chat and voice chat with all your contacts. They still have to download the plugin, but that is a really quick step that enables everyone to experience one of the most important features of an instant messenger. The Google Talk messenger is great because it is simple. There aren't any slow interfaces nor buggy windows. You open it from your web browser and you can start chatting in a couple of clicks. There are a lot of people who use Google for communication these days, so you are sure to find a lot of contacts who can make use of the video/audio capabilities that this application adds to Google Talk. The video and audio quality is remarkably good. Even better than Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo. And, since it is right inside of your web browsers, there isn't much to configure for it to work. Actually, I didn't have to do anything. It just worked great out-of-the-box. Google has a way of creating applications that are simple and work great; this is one of them.
